What is Radiesse?

There are several injectable wrinkle treatments on the market for you to use to get a more youthful, refreshed appearance. The Radiesse dermal filler offered by Provo, UT board-certified physician Dr. Stuart B. Porter is wonderful for mild-to-moderate wrinkles and lines on the face, and for eliminating volume loss on the hands. Patients who might not have time for repeat appointments love the lasting results of Radiesse (1 – 2 years).

Using microspheres of calcium hydroxyapatite in a water-based gel, this injectable fills and smooths the look of your skin without invasive surgery. Radiesse will safely and effectively contour your facial features. It may be used with other injectables (wrinkle relaxers and fillers) for a personalized treatment plan. Look several years younger and improve your confidence with Radiesse injectable wrinkle fillers at Xage Medical Spa in Provo, UT.

Who Is An Ideal Candidate?

Men and women who are in good health and have mild-to-moderate wrinkles and lines are the best patients for Radiesse injectable treatments. It can address smile lines, marionette lines, pre-jowl folds, chin wrinkles, and lines that form in the edges of the lips. Radiesse is also approved to treat age-related volume loss on the top of the hands to help them look fuller and younger. You should not have this injection if you have an allergy to lidocaine or other ingredients in Radiesse. Make sure to talk to Dr. Porter if you have any allergies (severe or not) and if you have a medical history with bleeding disorders. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, might be pregnant, or are considering pregnancy in the next several years, you should not have Radiesse injections.

Our Radiesse Injection Technique

Radiesse dermal injections take place in one of the treatment rooms at Xage Medical Spa in around 30 – 60 minutes. You can have your first injections right after your consultation. To begin the treatment, you will sit in a relaxed position while the areas of injection are cleaned and marked. Most patients feel mild discomfort throughout the treatment at the first stick, but if needed, a numbing agent can be used on the injection sites. The dosage of Radiesse, determined at your consultation, will be placed in a fine needle. The marked injection sites will help guide Dr. Porter to carefully administer Radiesse into the face. Once the treatment is complete, a cold compress can be held to the treated areas to minimize bruising and swelling.

What to Expect

Following your Radiesse injection, you may see slight swelling, redness, and bruising. This is common and should only last for about 5 – 10 days. These side effects can usually be camouflaged with makeup. If the bruising, swelling, or redness lasts longer or if you are concerned, please contact Xage Medical Spa. Most patients see visible results immediately with better results appearing over time. Your face should look younger, softer, and lifted. Radiesse tends to last longer compared to other dermal fillers — about 1 – 2 years. You can talk to Dr. Porter during your appointment about how soon to schedule your next treatment to touch up your results.
